HR Manager – Coventry
Our Client is an international automotive parts manufacturer with several sites in the UK and Europe.
They are looking to recruit a seasoned professional with at least 5 to 8 years proven track record of expertise as a Human Resources Manager.
Lead HR team and support Division Head UK in daily business and local HR strategy.
Through an understanding of the business and engagement with the business leaders, translate the business requirements and challenges into relevant HR actions
Counsel and support the local management team in the resolution of specific individual local HR issues;
e.g. disciplinary actions, face-to-face meetings with managers/employee/Works Councils representatives, application of early retirement programs with execution of individual cases, lay -off employees, including negotiation of severance payments
Support local management to review, manage and optimize team performance through Performance Management and Employee Development
Support local management to ensure proper response to employee questions and concerns, as well as policy and procedure violations
Provide managers with advice and guidance on employee relations issues, in line with UK legislation and Works Councils practices
Manage legal processes in all domains (Warnings – Dismissals – Restructuring – Redundancies)
Support, and lead if required, organizational changes (restructuring, mergers, acquisitions) providing appropriate solutions to the business from the HR perspective initiatives
Drive target setting and year end process
Responsible for compensation & benefits schemes incl. benchmarks
Very good knowledge and experience in compensation & benefits, UK employment law, HR projects, employee relations/engagement/development
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office
Influencing and negotiating skills to implement personnel policies
Must speak and write English fluently
Experience in process improvement or project management
Active affiliation with appropriate Human Resources networks and organizations and ongoing community involvement
Willing to travel
Education & Experience:
University degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organization Development or Law
A minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience in an HR position (full generalist remit) in an international company
Experience in leading a HR team in different plants
Excellent oral, written communication skills in English
Demonstrated track record in taking initiative, working independently and handling multiple priorities simultaneously
Proven interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
Conflict management and resolution skills
The Company has several sites in the UK and you will be involved in managing the HR function at the Coventry, Witham and Kidderminster factories.
The position will be based in Coventry and will be supporting around 600 employees in the UK.
Ideally qualified with formal HR qualifications i.e. CIPD or MCIPD for this HR Manager role.
Salary will be in the range £45K - £60K + benefits.
